About the Author

I'm Araminta, I am a costume designer, maker, milliner and lover of fashion, social history and culture.

I'm an avid period drama watcher but also relish a meaningful modern day pieces.
I love considering how films and TV series use costume to communicate character, metaphor and plot developments.

I also occasionally review reality shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and The Voice because lets be honest who doesn't love a bit of sparkle and abit of cynicism as to the effect of some of the costume choices.

However my most recent posts have focused on fashion history exhibitions focusing on my recent work experience with the Royal Albert Memorial and Totnes Fashion Museums as well as reflecting a childhood fascination with historic houses and clothing turned career ambition to work in the heritage sector.
